Common Questions

What is a fascia?

A fascia is a board that runs along your roofline at the bottom of your roof. You’ll be able to see it when looking at your house from the outside and it can be used to add a stylish finishing touch to your property. Fascias are mostly used to hold guttering in place, protecting your roof and home from damp or moisture. If you are noticing your fascias looking worse for wear it may be time to upgrade, especially if you currently have wooden fascias as they can get damp and rot. Contact us today for a free, no obligation quote.

What does roof trim include?

A roof trim can actually refer to lots of different products. These include fascias, soffits, guttering, and cladding, but generally, the term refers to the range of different types of protection you can choose from to protect the edges of your roof. Using roof trims can protect your house from damp, which reduces the risk of rot and damage to the structure of your house. If you want to upgrade your roof trims, then visit our showroom or contact us today.

What is the difference between bargeboard, soffit and fascias?

Fascias run along the lower edge of your roof, providing protection from the elements. They support the lower section of tiles on your house and hold up your guttering. A soffit is the part of the fascias that you can see from the ground, as it connects the fascias to the wall. A barge board is used at the gable end of the house and helps give your house an elegant look, especially if you match it to the colour of your fascias and soffit. How long do roof trim and fascias last?

Depending on the type of material they are made from roof trim and fascias can last for years. Traditionally, roof trims and fascias were made from wood, which is prone to rotting if it is not correctly maintained. Most roof trims are now made from PVCu, which lasts much longer and does not require as much maintenance. As such, we usually recommend PCVu for our roof trims.

Energy saving is incredibly important and so is keeping your fuel bills down. We are continuously looking for ways to make our projects energy efficient and one way is to choose new PVCu windows and doors. Not only will they help to keep your project warmer, they will reduce your energy loss.

Don’t just take our word for it!

Our suppliers conform to strictly controlled and independently monitored Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, to ensure that everything is done correctly and according to best practise.

Our windows are tested independently by British Standards for security, weather tightness and strength performance. This means that periodically, we have to send them to independent test houses, in order to be tested to destruction.
