What do Georgian windows look like?
Georgian windows are characteristic of many windows in the UK. Each pane of glass is sectioned into six with glazing bars that are sealed within the glass, creating an interesting pattern without any added texture. These windows are iconic across the country and are a simple and popular way to add an elegant touch to your home.
You can opt for the glazing bars to be raised from the glass, to create a more textured look, or keep them sealed within for a sleek windowpane that is easy to clean. Get in touch to discover the options for your home.
Is decorated glass hard to clean?
The cleaning and maintenance needs of decorative glass all depends on the type you choose. A raised grid design may collect more dust with a little extra cleaning involved when it comes to wiping them down. For the most minimal maintenance, internal Georgian bars that sit within the glass pane provide an elegant design while needing a simple wipe to keep clean. Coloured and bevelled glass should be treated like standard glass — a simple window cleaner spray and clean cloth are adequate for cleaning.
What is bevelled glass?
Bevelled glass is a common way to add a subtle design to your glass, create more angles within your window, and allow extra light into your home. The pane of glass is cut along the edges at different angles which are then polished or left textured. When the light enters through these angles, it is refracted, splitting into different directions and creating a small rainbow. Bevelled glass can be used on its own as a subtle way to add a different element to your window, or in combination with a colour or design for a textured and elegant effect.
What grid designs are available?
At Adorn Windows, all our products are manufactured at our South West factory, meaning you get a bespoke selection of designs, including grid designs. Whether you are looking for an unusual grid design for your door, window, or conservatory, you can choose from our selection of diamond grid, square grid, or something more individual. Contact us today to explore your options for grid design, including decorative glass options like textured or coloured glass.

Where should I install decorative glass?
This all depends on your style and the purpose of the window. Decorative glass is often used in front doors to add a pop of colour and flair to the focal point of a house. Bathroom windows are also a common place to add decorative glass if your aim is to reduce visibility from the outside.
If you want to discuss further ways you can add decorative glass to your home, or chat with an expert about how they are installed, we are here to help you with your decision.
